This quote is taken from a breastmilk donation place, the National Milk Bank:
"Will only babies receive my donated milk?
Any milk donated through NMB will ONLY go to sick babies in hospitals. However, breastmilk does have uses in the adult market as well. People with cancer drink breast milk to calm their stomachs after chemotherapy, make their immune systems stronger and help digest food. Burn patients use it to heal their burned skin. Organ transplant patients use breast milk to fight infections."
Very interesting. I've also heard that it helps heal ear infections in children when it put into the ear, and it also helps heal "goopy eye" or whatever its called when babies get crusty eyes. So not only is breastfeeding best for babies, its good for others too.
Disclaimer: I am not advocating that we all go out and drink breastmilk. I just thought that this was interesting.
...I just want to share something with you. Not that anyone wants to necessarily hear anything I have to say, but hey, maybe someone somewhere does. :) "Take care of your body and it'll take care of you, 'cause time keeps tickin', you keep gettin' older - you can get better or you can get all gooey, crotchety, old, pathetic, icky, gross. Not me, not into it." ~Tony Horton in Kenpo, P90X

By popular demand...
Due to complaints from those who shall remain nameless, :) I was going to remove the picture of the dead mouse. However, I am proud of my dead mouse and am going to leave it on here. But, I decided I would make another post to at least bump it down on the page. I don't really have anything to say. Hmmm.... My thoughts lately:
- I've jumped on the "I don't like Shula" bandwagon
- My frozen milk is taking over my freezer--we don't have room for our food
- I'm tired of Tyler eating (or not eating) the same thing all the time
- I am loving this weather, it's such a nice change--especially for the power bill
- I love it when I get a really good coupon for something I buy all the time
- I think my kids get more adorable everyday
Well, that's enough thoughts. I'm too tired. Yes, its 8:45pm and I'm ready for bed.

Nah Nah Nah Nah, Nah Nah Nah Nah, Hey Hey Hey, Gooood Bye!
So long little mouse. Hope the bread was yummy. May this be a lesson to all your other furry little siblings, aunts, and uncles to stay out of my kitchen. (Although there are probably eighty more of you somewhere in my house.) And for anyone who wants to know, it works best to smush some bread up into the trap part, then rub a little peanut butter on it, and under the metal piece. The greedy little mice try to get the stuck bread, then BAM! So long. Farewell. It's time to say goodbye.

If I See One More...
If I see one more rodent, insect, or other creature living inside my house, I am moving out. There is a reason that I live in a house and pay a mortgage and dont live outside on the ground for free. Its because I don't like to live with mice or ants! They are gross, annoying, and disgusting. They belong outside or dead. We've been dealing with ants for a few weeks now, but tonight I went to get out the bread to make a sandwich for my lunch tomorrow, and low and behold there's a little hole chewed through the end of the bread. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! I HATE MICE. ESPECIALLY IN MY HOUSE. Guess I won't have a sandwich tomorrow. Get out of my house you nasty animals and bugs. Or at least stay up in my attic where I can't see you.

If you see a cell phone along the side of the road, give them a call
There is a street sign at the entrance to our neighborhood where everyone posts their signs that they want people to see and take note of. For example--yard sale, lost dog, lost cat. So the other day as I am coming home, I notice that someone has put up a new sign. On bright orange paper, duct taped to the street sign, is a sign that reads, "LOST CELL PHONE" then they give a short description in words too small to see and their phone number. Hmmm... Am I going to see a little silver cell phone laying on the side of the road or hear it ringing as I am driving by? Um, chances are slim. Try an ad in the lost section of the classifieds.

Ode To The Pool
(to the tune of "Oh Christmas Tree")
Oh swimming pool
Oh swimming pool
I really think I hate you
Oh swimming pool
Oh swimming pool
I wish you'd go away
Your stupid liner messes up
Your algae just won't go away
And chemicals just cost too much
And that is why I hate you.
Oh swimming pool
Oh swimming pool
I really think I hate you
Oh swimming pool
Oh swimming pool
I wish you'd go away
Your stupid liner messes up
Your algae just won't go away
And chemicals just cost too much
And that is why I hate you.

Stupid McDonalds...But Thank You For Being Stupid!
I stopped at McDonalds on my way home to get something quick for dinner (Joseph wasn't eating so I wasn't cooking). I had a coupon for a free Southern Style Chicken Sandwich with the purchase of a medium fries and a medium drink. So I tell the lady at the drive through about my coupon and what I wanted. I drive around to the first window and give her my coupon and money, then go to the second window and pick up my food. Well, I didn't look at/in my bag until I got to the light to get on the interstate, and she had given me THREE chicken sandwiches with my fries and drink. Hmmm...I guess she thought I said "three" instead of "free" chicken sandwich. And did she not look at the coupon when I handed it to her, and realize her mistake? Oh well. Thank you, McDonalds lady, for being a little dumb. Oh, and the sandwich was really good. It tasted like Chick-fil-A. Mmmmmm.

Whats the deal with the remote????
Okay, so I've been married for over four years now, and I still have yet to understand men's fascination with the remote control and channel flipping. Here's the scenario: I'm sitting on the couch, perfectly content watching a Friends re-run, when Joseph comes over and sits down. The show goes to a commercial, and he picks up the remote and just starts flipping channels. I mean, what good does it do to watch one minute of four different shows during the commercial break??? And why do men think its okay just to take over the remote any time they want to??? And it's not just Joseph, I remember watching shows with my brother and he would do the same thing. And when you tell them to put it back on your show, that you don't want to miss anything, they flip it back like, "HA! I knew the show wasn't back on yet," then they continue flipping channels. So usually I just end up getting up to do something else (that I should probably be doing anyway) and let Joseph watch five different shows all at once, each one during the commercial break of another one. So if any male would like to help me understand, please do...

Hey, I can call my kid melon head, but...
Today, Tyler, Madison and I were in Lowes and we were checking out. This man and his daughter who was about 2 1/2 probably, were behind us. I hear the girl say, "Daddy, that boy's head looks like an egg!" Her dad says, "Yeah, he doesn't have a lot of hair, does he?" He looked at me like, "I am soooo sorry." It was so funny. Poor Tyler, he does have hair, its just thin, fine, short, and blonde, so you can't really see it. I guess that's like the day the man in the FoodWorld parking lot asked my mom if he had cancer. He really didnt have any then though. I mean, I'm allowed to call my kid melon head, but he's mine! Hehe. (We were in Walmart and the lady in front of us was buying a honeydew melon. I told Joseph it looked like Tyler's head. LOL. That was when he was about 6 months old.) Poor kid, but I love him so much!

Times I Realize I'm A Mom
Today was one of those times that I really realize that I'm a mom. We had some leftover pizza in the fridge this morning, and I REALLY wanted to eat it for breakfast. (Cold pizza for breakfast is the best!) But, I saved it for Tyler and watching him enjoy it for lunch was way better than if I had eaten it. He was so excited and ate three pieces, minus the crust. Cleaning him up was another story though...

Finally...
Yea! We have a pool again! After so many problems, and many, many, many gallons of water, we have a full pool! Just in time for this hot weather. Now time to dump in a hundred dollars worth of chemicals and we'll be good to go. After almost a year of looking out the kitchen window to a green, leaf-filled pit where the water should be, it's really nice to look out and see a beautiful pool. And it only took about 32 hours to fill with water.

My New Blog
Well, I have finally decided to start my own blog about me. Yeah, sometimes it might be about my kids or my husband, but that's only because they are my life. Sometimes I just want to say something that I really don't want to put on my kids blogs because its about me, not them. So that's what this is for. Basically, my online journal. Its much faster to type than to write, and I don't have a lot of free time.
