...I just want to share something with you. Not that anyone wants to necessarily hear anything I have to say, but hey, maybe someone somewhere does. :) "Take care of your body and it'll take care of you, 'cause time keeps tickin', you keep gettin' older - you can get better or you can get all gooey, crotchety, old, pathetic, icky, gross. Not me, not into it." ~Tony Horton in Kenpo, P90X

Tyler and Madison dialogue
Madison is playing with her phone and hangs it up.
Tyler: Who was that
Madison: Um, Nanny.
Tyler: What'd she say?
Madison: Um, stop tattling.
HAHAHAHAHA. You can tell what our latest topic of conversation has been.

Kids are so funny
The scene: my car on the way to grandma's house
Tyler: Mommy, Madison has her feet on the back of the seat
Me: Tyler, are you tattling?
Tyler: No.
Me: Well, is Madison getting hurt or doing something that could hurt her?
Tyler: No.
Me: So then you're tattling. Stop tattling.
Tyler: No I'm not
Me: Yes you are Tyler, nobody likes it when you tattle. Please stop tattling.
Tyler: Hmmph.
(silence)
Tyler: I'm getting tired of this.
Me: Tired of what.
Tyler: You telling me to stop tattling.
HAHA. The things they put together and say.
Then in the car on the way home:
Madison: blah, blah, tyler opens the door, blah, blah, my turn, blah, blah, tyler's turn, blah, blah (you get the idea)
Me: (listening to the radio)
Madison: Mommy, I talking. MOMMY, I TALKING.
Me: Oh yes, sweetie, I'm listening.
I guess I was supposed to be responding to something she was saying. I'm just so used to just listening to them talk as background noise b/c rarely their talking to me in the car. LOL.

Today I'm thankful for....
1. Tyler being able to pee by himself...even if it is the middle of the yard for all to see with his pants all the way down aroung his ankles.
2. That the pitcher of water was only a little full. Made much less mess.
3. Mollie pottied on her puppy pads. YEA!
4. I'm officially demoted.
5. Tomorrow is Saturday and I don't have to get up and workout.

Things I Am Thankful For...
It's been jsut one of those days, but here are a few things I'm thankful for (not an all inclusive list, there's plenty more!):
1. That the ants only decided to FLOCK to the spatula in the kitchen sink and not my entire food cabinet. Much easier to spray and kill them
2. Spot Shot. The best carpet cleaner ever.
3. My laptop - so I can put in my weight watchers stuff as I make my breakfast/lunch
4. Joseph - he's just awesome and I do love him a LOT
5. The feeling of anticipation of football. Football games are just so much fun!

I'm just a Walmart girl...
So today I went in our new Target near my house and I have decided that I'm just a Super Walmart girl at heart. Yeah, it was a nice Target with cute purses and house stuff, but it didn't have anything that I went in to get. A single serve blender, 15 lb dumbells, or my shampoo. I was so sad because I wanted to LOVE it so much. Don't get me wrong, I still love Target and will definitely spend some money there, but it just made me realize that I am a SWM person. And I'm happy with that. I then went to my trusty Walmart and got all those things (and more!). I guess Walmart will continue to get half my paycheck even though I go in there for three things...

If you ever want to make a gross dinner...
...here's the recipe you should try:
3 T Carribean Jerk Marinade
1.5 lbs round steak, cut up
1/3 c flour
4 potatoes, cut up
1 can diced tomatoes
Marinate the beef in the marinade, mix with the flour to coat.
Place potatoes in the bottom of the crockpot, lay meat on top, then pour undrained tomatoes over it all. Cook on low for 8-9 hours.
It will come out looking like throw-up and pretty much tasting like it too, especially the potatoes. If you rinse the meat off really well and pour BBQ sauce on it, hopefully the leftover meat won't taste so bad. At least that's what I'm hoping. I don't usually despise a recipe, but this was just horrible. So if someone you don't like is coming over for dinner, definitely fix this!

Gas Prices
Okay, something annoys me -- amazing, I know. Why, every morning on CBS morning news or whatever news it is that's on at 4am, do they EVERY MORNING have a blurb about another "record high" price for a gallon of gas? If today we hit a "record high" at $3.73, then naturally tomorrow when its $3.74 of course that's a new record high. Why don't they just wait till the end of summer and say something about the highest price? Its just a waste of 5 seconds of TV time. I mean, they could be covering some monumental moment in election coverage!

Thoughts by someone else that I needed to hear
Sometimes God just amazes me and I don't know why. I should know that He knows to put the right thing in the right place at the right time. I mean, he knows everything. Duh, Brianna. Anyway. I've been feeling REALLY crappy about my job lately and having trouble finding a way to be happy and joyful in the Lord at work. I came across this tonight as I was just playing on the internet. It really made me think. (Note: I stole this, from here: http://www.1way2god.net/tho_joy.html, but I'm don't know anything about the rest of the website!)
I began this 'thought' by defining joy as being characterised by an underlying happiness and thankfulness in the knowledge of the Kingdom to which we all (as believers) belong, taking care to disassociate this from merely appearing to be happy. But appearing happy is part of it too; however, it is the end, not the means. Your response to Christ should make you happier, and being happier should result in appearing happier. Living 'with our eyes on the Kingdom' means that we can no longer claim the right to appear joyless because of a despairing circumstance. How often do we fall into the trap of saying "How can I be joyful under the circumstances?", but as Charles Swindoll points out, Christians are supposed to live above the 'circumstances'.2 If you regularly fail to be happy, you have to ask yourself to what extent you're focusing on this world and forgetting the guaranteed blessings of Christ.
And so I return to the underlying theme of this thought, that joy is an important part of our Christian life, often overlooked, and sometimes completely rejected. Being joyful includes appearing to be happy, but this not as a result of forcing ourselves to smile - it should come as a result of appreciating Christ and knowing God. It's as simple as that. The Christian joy is not to be subject to the earthly situation in which we live, but only to the higher situation of being saved by grace.
When you are letting the weight of this world get you down, ask God to remind you of the world you have to look forward to and the Kingdom to which you already belong; and ask for increased joy in your life as a response to the truth of Christ.

Before and After
The left are the pictures that disgusted me from the beach last year. The right is from Madison's party. That's 50 pounds less from the left to the right. I really almost couldn't believe that was me in the pictures from Madison's party. It was the first time I had seen myself (other than the mirror) since I've reached my goal. I actually am pretty proud of myself. I've worked really hard to reach this goal and I plan to stay here for a long time!

This was a "breaking news" update on al.com this afternoon. So, I think I need to hear this guys side of the story b/c he sounds pretty stupid from this article. Maybe he can write an editorial and redeem himself.
Man mistaken about robbery injured running into door
Posted by Jeremy Gray -- Birmingham News April 28, 2008 12:27 PM
A man who mistakingly thought the bank he was in was being robbed suffered several cuts just before noon today when he ran through a glass door, Birmingham police said.
Someone was robbed outside the bank, in the 900 block of 19th Street South around 11:30 this morning.
Customers and employees witnessed the robbery and the man mistakingly thought the bank itself was being robbed, according to Lt. David Robinson.
The man, who was driven by private automobile to UAB Hospital for treatment of the numerous cuts, declined to comment.
Police are looking for two men who fled the scene in a four-door black Ford Focus with a license plate that contains the numbers and letters 1A67, Robinson said.
Police are not sure if the two men intended to rob the bank, Robinson said.

I love my kids!
So, we're riding in the car and Tyler asks, "Mommy, Is Jesus strong?"
I tell him, "Yes, Jesus is very strong."
Tyler, "Is God strong too?"
Me, "Yes, God is very strong too!"
Tyler starts singing Jesus loves me and gets to the chorus:
"Yes Jesus loves me" (Madison chimes in "and ME!")
"Yes, Jesus loves me" (Madison: "and ME!")
"Yes, Jesus loves me" (Madison: "and ME!")
"For the Bible tells me so."
Madison is forever in fear of being left out and everything is "and ME!" even being the little echo on Jesus loves me.
They are just hilarious sometimes!

Update
First news - I lost my 10 pounds for Scale Back Alabama! Yea! I actually lost a little more, but I am in the drawing for $250 at least. Maybe I'll win - I'd sure spend it all on clothes!
Next news - I've lost a total of 48 pounds now since starting Weight Watchers since the end of July. It doesn't seem that long ago. I'm 2 pounds away from my "official" goal. Maybe I'll really post some pictures then.

So, This is GROSS...
Here's an email/joke I got that is just so gross I had to share. Plus, especially if you have kids, you can sure imagine this happening. Which makes it even more gross...
One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge. I was maybe 2 years old.
Someone had given me a little tea set as a gift and it was one of my
favorite toys.
Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news and my sister was
playing nearby in the living room when I brought Daddy a little cup of
"tea," which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise
for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.
My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea,
because it was "just the cutest thing!"
My Mom waited, and sure enough, I made my way down the hall with a cup of
tea for Daddy.
She watches him drink it up then says, "Did it ever occur to you that the
only place a child can reach to get water is the toilet?"

Interesting...
This is the back of a business that I walk behind going to/from work. So, do the signs mean that it is private parking for the toilets only? Or the toilets are private parking for the tenant's behinds only? I think that this business would be very surprised if some of the homeless people begin using their potties.
